Memorial Mockup Unveiling
A model of one of the planned memorial monolithes was unveiled at the American Legion Post #245 on May 2, 2008.
The model is a life-sized representation of just one of the nine black granite monolithes that will be part of the Twin County Veterans Memorial.
The first public display of the model was at the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #710 Car Show on May 3, 2008.
Rex Roberts is holding a sample paver. Each granite paver is 5" x 10" and weighs 8.5 pounds. Pavers may be ordered to honor a veteran for a donation of $100 or more.
A memorial mockup was unveiled at the American Legion Post #245 meeting on Friday, May 2, 2008. Sharon H. Plichta, Chairman of the Memorial Fundraising Committee and Post Commander Rodger Jennings do the honors. The life-sized mockup is representative of several of the memorial features.
