Official Display Days
POW-MIA Flag is required to be displayed by federal agencies, military installations and U.S. Post Offices on the following days. (Public Law 105-85, November 16, 1997)

The POW-MIA feature of the memorial is represented by an empty granite chair.
The "empty chair" represents a chair at many veterans group meetings reserved for the returning POW or MIA veteran.
The reserved seat is flanked by two granite benches where individuals may sit and contemplate the fate of our missing comrades.
The back of the chair is a black granite monolith with an engraved POW-MIA face profile.
The POWs and MIAs are not forgotten.
We await a "full accounting" of
all POWs and MIAs.
